One of our recent applications for induction heating is heat treatment of the turbine or generator rotors either for stress relieving after
they have been weld repaired or to improve mechanical properties like hardness, softness, machinability etc. During this heat treatment the
rotors must continuously be rotated to avoid the possibility of any bending. The non-contact characteristic of our system makes it ideal
for the purpose.
We connect up to 30 thermocouples to a single rotor during the process of heat treatment. These thermocouples are then
wired to a wireless transmitter strapped on the rotor which in turn sends the signals to the remote temperature data acquisition system
and the real time temperatures are displayed on a laptop computer. This ensures that the correct temperature profile is maintained.
